Kyle Holiday

Since I was four years old, aviation has always been a passion of mine. Ever since I saw a plane fly over my parent’s car on the highway, I have always been intrigued. As a child, I surrounded myself with plastic model planes that I would play with around the house all day. The “runway” was a straight shot from my living room into my kitchen and then back again to land at the “airport.” No one else in my family had any experience or background in aviation, yet as I grew older, I would spend my free time either watching aviation related videos or taking a road trip to the airport to watch airplanes take off and land. In middle school, I convinced my parents to buy a flight simulator for my computer, “flying” to different places around the world. That was the closest I was going to get to flying at that age. In the Fall of 2019, I took my first introductory flight lesson and it solidified that this is what I was meant to do. In the summer of 2020, I enrolled in flight training with Mid Island Air Service and in November 2021, at 17 years old, I received my Private Pilot Certificate. I will be attending Purdue University in the Fall majoring in Professional Flight on my path to becoming a commercial airline pilot. Flying has been a lifelong dream of mine and I look forward to seeing what this next chapter in my life has to offer.
